A student may want an individual portrait and a photograph with the family who came with them. Tell us which pictures matter so we can plan both.
A visit from Korea or another state can be a chance to bring several generations into one photograph. Adult families are welcome too.
Most families come to our Northbrook studio, where we can prepare the lighting and background, discuss clothing, and guide the group through individual and shared portraits. If traveling to the studio is difficult or your home is part of the story, ask whether an at-home session can be arranged for your family.
For a 100-day or first-birthday portrait, you can begin with your child and the people you want beside them. We have baby clothing and hanbok at the studio, and can plan around pieces your family wants to bring. Portraits with parents, siblings, and grandparents can be discussed in advance.

If you are considering maternity or newborn photographs, tell us the stage you want to remember and who you hope will be in the frame. We can discuss current session possibilities and the timing and setting that suit your family.
Tell us who is coming, whether someone is visiting from out of town, and which groupings you want most. We can discuss clothing, background, posing, and individual portraits during the same visit. The time, location, people and finished products are confirmed for your session before booking.
For some families, coming together to be photographed becomes a way to mark who belongs in this chapter. A small print to give someone or a larger portrait for home can keep that moment present. We will explain retouching, prints, albums and digital choices, with exact inclusions confirmed for your session.

Gugwa has also offered fall outdoor and winter indoor mini sessions for families who want a shorter seasonal visit, often for a holiday card. Dates, availability and inclusions are announced separately.
